One thing is clear - Georgia needs electricity and it needs this project, - the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey Fatma Ceren Yazgan said on the construction of Namakhvani HPP in an exclusive interview with Kviris Palitra.
As the Turkish ambassador explains, they realize that someone does not want to build power plants in Georgia.
"I am not a lawyer for Turkish companies, but one thing is clear - there was a protest after the signing of the agreement and 5-7 people were protesting against the construction. During the election period, when the firm began operations, Georgian citizens were employed, but they were pressured by being told that Georgians should not work with Turks. As interest increased, they began to use religious symbols”, she said.
According to her, manipulators have targeted the Turkish firm, which is building the plant. Asked who or which country might be behind it, Fatma Ceren Yazgansaid "we have to work and understand it."
"Apparently, the tails of this force are in both Georgia and abroad. When Turkey starts talking about Georgia's membership in NATO and the European Union, this pressure immediately increases. I cannot mention Russia. The enemies of Georgian-Turkish cooperation may be not only in Russia, but also in Europe or other countries that do not want a good relationship between us, but one thing is clear - Georgia needs electricity and it needs this project. The investor’s diligence should not be lost," said Fatma Ceren Yazgansaid.
