Counterfeiters are 'worried' about not yet appropriated Georgian wine 'Tvishi'

The theft of Georgian wine names by Armenian forgers has become quite large. For many years Armenia has been producing about 2.5 million liters of wine per year under the assigned Georgian names: "saperavi", "mskhali", "rkatsiteli", "kakhet". The same products are exported to different countries through the territory of Georgia. It was only last winter that Georgia began to take decisive measures against the Armenian "grabber" of the alien. In particular, consignments of falsified Armenian wine under the stolen names "Saperavi" and "Kakhet" were detained.

Georgia has every reason to prevent further such falsification with stolen names through its territory. Wines bearing the names of the main wine-making region of Georgia - Kakheti, are registered in international structures, and such appellations are under the legal protection of the EU. Since 2014, a bilateral agreement has been in effect between Georgia and the EU on the protection of geographical indications of food and agricultural products. The registration of the rights of Georgia to other varieties of wine is in progress.

It seems that the Armenian nationalists will have to come to terms with the fact that they will not be able to brazenly profit from the appropriation of Georgian varieties of wines. However, suddenly, unexpectedly, the same pro-Armenian publication "Sputnik", which was so indignant at the detention of Armenian counterfeit wines under stolen Georgian names at the Georgian customs, began to "worry" about Georgian winemaking.

This is how one should assess the appearance in the Sputnik edition of the article “White Khvanchkara” under threat: why can Georgian wine “Tvishi” sink into oblivion? " (https://sputnik-georgia.ru/reviews/20210504/251604357/Belaya-Khvanchkara-pod-ugrozoy-pochemu-gruzinskoe-vino-Tvishi-mozhet-kanut-v-letu.html). Here are excerpts from it.

“The construction of a large hydroelectric power station of the same name has begun in the village of Namakhvani 20 kilometers from Tvishi. A Turkish company will build and manage the Namakhvani hydroelectric power station for 99 years, a corresponding agreement has already been signed with the government of Georgia.

The project includes the construction of two stations: Nizhnyaya and Verkhnyaya Namakhvani. Large dams and reservoirs will appear in the municipalities of the Rion Gorge - Tskhaltubo and Tsageri so that Tvishi will be literally in the middle between them.

Inhabitants of Tvishi are sounding the alarm - they say that part of the coastal vineyards will be flooded, and those lands that are higher are at risk of being "bent" from high humidity.

"If this happens, there will be no prosperity in our region. We are against it. What should we do? How will we save ourselves then? How will we live? We will then become socially unprotected, without prosperity. Who will help us then? We do not ask much - just leave us alone and let us do what we do ", - saying these words, the cheerful face of the farmer goes out.

The life of the farmer Gocha and his fellow villagers has changed dramatically over the past six months. Now his schedule includes caring for the vineyard and livestock, evening walks, admiring the beauty around and receiving guests, and, as scheduled, attendance at all protests against the construction of the Namakhvani hydroelectric power station, which are taking place in Kutaisi.

Today, perhaps the biggest dream of the inhabitants of Tvishi is that a large hydroelectric power station would never be built here."

Here the defenders of the Armenian counterfeiters of Georgian wines are very "worried" about the production of the unique Georgian wine "Tvishi" being preserved. Which, in general, is absolutely not threatened by anything (unless it will be appropriated by "Christian brothers" and will be passed off as an "ancient Armenian variety").

After all, speculation that they say, the construction of reservoirs for the Namakhvani HPP cascade will change the climate and ruin winemaking has long been refuted by experts. It has already been proven that reservoirs of such a small area and volume do not affect the climate at all.

For example, in the west of Azerbaijan, there is a huge Mingechevir reservoir near the border with Georgia. Its area reaches 605 square kilometers. Those. it is almost 101 times (!) larger than the maximum area of the reservoirs of the Namakhvani HPP cascade, which will not exceed 6 square kilometers.

And what has greatly changed the climate of the Mingechaur reservoir in the west of Azerbaijan and the same Georgian Kakheti? In the areas adjacent to the reservoir, the climate was both arid and remained. And the vineyards anywhere near the reservoir did not "bent" from the high humidity.

But the inhabitants of the Rioni Valley, the same zone of Tvishi, with the emergence of reservoirs, will receive a guaranteed additional influx of tourists. Indeed, in addition to the unique wine, there will be an opportunity to relax on the shores of the newly formed most picturesque mountain lakes-reservoirs.

It is no secret that the shores of reservoirs in Georgia are now becoming very popular. For example, the Shaori reservoir is considered the pearl of the Racha-Lechkhumi region. Recreation centers are being built here, land plots on the banks of the reservoir are much more expensive than in the same Racha-Lechkhumi - but far from this picturesque reservoir. And none of the local residents complain about climate change - although the reservoir is quite large in the area - 9.2 square kilometers.

However, in the comments under the publication of the article on Facebook, one can immediately see who is behind the "defenders of Tvishi's wine." This is exactly the same Armenian lobby and the pro-Armenian fifth column, which wants to embroil Georgia and Turkey, hinder the implementation of joint Georgian-Turkish investment projects.

Armenian nationalists do not miss an opportunity to stir up a conflict between the Georgians themselves, between opponents of the construction of the hydroelectric power station and its supporters, to incite the former against the latter.

For example, one of the leaders of the community of Tbilisi Armenians, Mikhail Tatevosov, commenting on an article “in defense of Tvishi” on Facebook, writes about the neighbors of those who are protesting against the construction of the hydroelectric power station:

“And the neighbors have already grabbed 120,000 lari from the Turks for their plots and dumped them into the city. Who will return 32,000,000 lari? ...

Quite a typical reception for Armenian provocateurs. Set off against each other, set brothers and neighbors against each other, so that later, out of their quarrel, "to have" their own benefit. In Abkhazia, alas, provocateurs at one time succeeded in playing off the fraternal Georgian and Abkhaz peoples.

I would like to ask Mikhail Tatevosov, how much did his fellow tribesmen in Abkhazia give to the families of the unfortunate Georgian refugees? Those who are huddling all over Georgia in adapted premises when their houses and apartments were seized by "Christian brothers-Armenians" from the battalion named after Baghramyan and other bandit formations? And are these “Armenian brothers” going to return someone else's housing to its legal owners and pay compensation for the time they used it?

So, let Mr. Tatevosov worry better about how the Abkhaz Armenians will return their homes to their rightful owners. And the Georgians on their own land, including in Tvishi, will sort it out themselves without outside "advisers" and provocateurs.
