Georgian peacekeepers to depart for Germany

The Georgian peacekeepers of the 4th Mechanized Brigade left for Germany to undergo training to serve in the NATO-led Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan.

 

The East Commander of the Georgian Armed Forces General Roland Dzneladze sent them off from the Alekseevka military airfield.

 

According to the Georgian Defense Ministry, the Georgian soldiers will train at Schwarzborn base for 5 months in combined simulated exercises under supervision of German instructors.

 

The Georgian peacekeepers will then be dispatched to the Marshall base in Mazār-i-Sharīf for 7 months. They will replace the 3rd Mechanized Brigade staff under the rotation rule.
