Georgia reports 551 new cases of coronavirus, 23 deaths

551 new cases of the virus were identified in the last 24 hours, said Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Chief of Operations at the Interagency Coordination Council, at a briefing at the government administration.


"In the last 24 hours, 7,898 tests were conducted across the country, including 4,371 studies with antigen tests and 3,527 PCR tests.

 

The tests revealed 551 new cases of the virus the last 24 hours, and the total number of confirmed cases since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country is 239,780.

 

In the last 24 hours, 880 people have recovered from the virus, and the total number of recoveries has risen to 226,215.

 

Unfortunately, we have 23 new cases of coronavirus deaths in the last 24 hours. A total of 2,796 people have died from the virus since the pandemic spread.

 

Out of 551 new cases of infection detected in the country today: 196 cases were reported in Tbilisi, Adjara - 62, Imereti - 84, Kvemo Kartli - 24, Shida Kartli - 14, Guria - 13, Samegrelo - Zemo Svaneti - 48, Kakheti - 41, Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 41, Samtskhe-Javakheti - 23, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 5", - Sochinava said.
