As part of a two-month concrete plan for targeted precise restrictions, intensive testing has already begun, meaning that the state is conducting 20,000 tests a day. 18,095 tests have been performed in the last 24 hours, including 7,716 antigens and 10,379 PCRs, - said Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of Operations at the Interagency Coordination Council, at a briefing at the Government Administration.
"As you know, we have announced a two-month concrete plan for targeted precise restrictions. It is within this two-month plan, you know, that intensive testing has already begun, meaning that the state is conducting 20,000 tests a day. 18,095 tests have been performed in the last 24 hours, including 7,716 antigens and 10,379 PCRs. As a result, 5,450 newly confirmed cases of the virus have been identified in the last 24 hours. The total number of confirmed cases detected since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country amounts to 158,154. In the last 24 hours, 2,306 people recovered, and the total number of recoveries increased to 129,210. Unfortunately, we have 37 new cases of coronavirus deaths in the last 24 hours. Since February 26, 2020, we have a total of 1,462 deaths.
Out of 5,450 new cases of infection detected today, 2,053 cases were reported in Tbilisi, 453 in Adjara, 931 in Imereti, 339 in Kvemo Kartli, 528 in Shida Kartli, 84 in Guria, Samegrelo and Zemo Svaneti - 434, in Kakheti - 386, in Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 104, in Samtskhe-Javakheti - 105, in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 33. At this stage, there are 27 456 active cases of infection.
