5,068 new confirmed cases of the virus have been identified in the last 24 hours, - Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of Operations at the Interagency Coordination Council, said at a briefing at the Government Administration.
"5,068 new confirmed cases of the virus have been identified in the last 24 hours. The total number of confirmed cases since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country amounts to 152,704.
In the last 24 hours, 2,336 people were recovered, and the total number of recoveries increased to 126,904.
Unfortunately, we have 38 new cases of coronavirus deaths in the last 24 hours. Since of February 26, 2020, we have a total of 1,425 deaths.
Out of 5,068 new cases of infection detected today, 1,959 cases were reported in Tbilisi, 483 in Adjara, 980 in Imereti, 296 in Kvemo Kartli, 222 in Shida Kartli, 122 in Guria, in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 408, in Kakheti - 335, in Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 130, in Samtskhe-Javakheti - 114, in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 19", - said Sichinava.
