Giorgi Gakharia: It seems that the intensity of the second wave was not fully assessed

According to the new principles of clinical management, home treatment and treatment at Covid-hotels are the only way to help the health care system, - Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia said at the governmental meeting.

As Gakharia noted, the resources of the Georgian healthcare system are not indefinite, so everything should be done to provide the services of the healthcare system to the people who need it the most.

"Although the situation in the world is deteriorating globally, it seems that the intensity of the second wave was not fully assessed. Today we see that in Europe, as the number of lockdowns as well as the number of infected people increases, countries with well-functioning economies and strong healthcare find it difficult to cope with the massive spread of the infection. As you know, our strategy is adaptation and targeted restrictions and we follow this strategy. We will continue to do this, but each of our citizens must understand that the resources of the Georgian healthcare system are not indefinite, so everything should be done to provide the services of the healthcare system to the people who need it the most: our elderly and people with chronic illnesses”, said the PM.
