According to the Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, if 90% of Georgian citizens wear a face mask, the spread of infection will be reduced by 70%.
"There is a significant increase in infection in Georgia and everyone should understand that the stage of adaptation and management that we are in today requires more responsibility from each of us. It is well known how effective it is to wear a face mask. We had discussions with epidemiologists today and if 90% of our citizens wear a face mask, the spread of infection will be reduced by 70%. This has been said many times and we will repeat once again that no one could have invented a more effective tool against the global pandemic than the mask, social distance and the observance of the rules of hygiene. Therefore, we should all take care of each other and follow these rules. Otherwise, the increase in the spread of infection will be rapid and will cause more damage to both our economy and our citizens. Therefore, we should take better care of each other, show more responsibility and, first of all, we should take care of the elderly, because they are, first of all, at risk", - Gakharia said.
