According to Sergi Kapanadze, the head of the European Georgia election headquarters, the attack on the Bank of Georgia branch in Zugdidi is a result of the difficult environment created by Ivanishvili's government.
As Kapanadze noted, in this situation, people have a feeling that the state has collapsed and is not up to the challenge.
"It is very good that it all ended without any casualties, but it is very bad that a person in Georgia can enter a bank, demand money, take people hostage and then go unpunished. This is a grave result of the environment created by Ivanishvili, in an environment in which criminals can do everything, in which criminals cooperate with the state including for electoral purposes. In this situation, we have the feeling that the state has collapsed and is not up to the challenge. This is a very difficult feeling, which will probably haunt every citizen of Georgia for a long time to come", - Kapanadze said.
