Georgian hazelnut export increases by 74%

Georgian hazelnut export increased by 74 per cent, said the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.

 

4,466 tonnes of nuts were exported from Georgia, which is 74 per cent more compared to the same period of the previous year, noted the Ministry.

 

The top countries where Georgia exported hazelnuts were the following:

Germany – 1,392.9 tonnes
Italy – 808.8 tonnes
Czech Republic – 280.3 tonnes
Spain – 165 tons, Poland – 192 tonnes
France – 125 tonnes
Lithuania – 143.7 tonnes
Greece – 34.7 tonnes
Austria – 22 tonnes
Estonia – 22 tonnes
Latvia – 21 tonnes
Armenia – 255.8 tonnes
Russia – 268.0 tonnes
Ukraine – 83.7 tonnes
Belarus – 102.5 tonnes
Brazil – 74.0 tonnes
Mexico – 53.0 tonnes
Great Britain – 22 tonnes
According to the Ministry, the predicted harvest in 2020 is 50 thousand tonnes.
