Of course, we won't hold back to name the origin and the authors of this illegal act. Everything will be called by its name, - Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani told reporters in response to the cyber attack on a Lugar lab database.

According to him, the government, together with international partners, will do everything possible to identify the perpetrators of these illegal actions.

"Of course, the illegal action taken against the Lugar Laboratory Center is categorically unacceptable. This is an integral part of the disinformation and illegal campaign, which is carried out even in the conditions of a pandemic, against an institution that is critically important and very valuable for Georgia. Do you know how important the Lugar Laboratory is in fighting pandemics? It was this critically important institution that was attacked. The attack was, of course, aimed at paralyzing this institution, because one of the factors determining the success of Georgia and our government in terms of fighting the pandemic is Lugar laboratory. Our law enforcement agencies are in close communication with all our partners", - stated Zalkaliani.

For the record, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on September 1, 2020, a cyber-attack from one of the foreign countries was carried out on the computer system of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia. The attack was aimed at illegal appropriation and use of important medical records and pandemic management information stored in the databases of the central office of the Ministry, its structural units, including the Richard G. Lugar Center for Public Health Research of the National Agency for Disease Control and Public Health
