According to Amiran Gamkrelidze, head of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, there are currently about 15 infected patients in Georgia, the source of which is still unknown.

 

"We have about 15 cases of infection today, where we have not yet discovered the source", - Gamkrelidze said.

 

According to him, as of today, the coronavirus has been confirmed to a total of 140 truck drivers in the country.

 

"There are about 140 truck drivers who have been infected with the virus. About 500 trucks enter the country daily, importing and exporting groceries. The mechanism of their rapid testing at the borders is working well. Those whose condition are deemed as suspicious will be quarantined for further PCR testing and thus we will prevent further spread of the virus in the country", - stressed Gamkrelidze.
