Archil Talakvadze: All appropriate measures have been taken in order to bring observers to Georgia during the global pandemic

The Chairman of the Parliament, Archil Talakvadze, met with the new Director of the National Office of the National Democratic Institute (NDI), Alan Gillam.

 

According to the press service of the parliament, the meeting was held in the format of a teleconference. The discussion focused on the legislative reforms carried out by the Parliament of Georgia regarding the elections, the pre-election campaign, security measures related to Covid 19 and the arrival of observation missions in Georgia.

 

The meeting was attended by Vice-Speaker Kakha Kuchava and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs, Irakli Beraia, as well as NDI local office staff.

 

"Georgia is a reliable democratic partner. We have carried out important democratic reforms and are ready to hold free and fair elections in a substantially proportional system. Georgia is strengthening democracy and we are pleased that our international friends and strategic partners are supporting this process. All appropriate measures have been taken to bring observers to Georgia in the conditions of a global pandemic", - stated Archil Talakvadze.
