07.08.20 11:00

The President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili has echoed a supportive statement issued by Belgium, Estonia, France, Germany, UK, US, Ireland and Norway following the UN Security Council’s online meeting, which discussed developments since August 2008 war.

The President thanked the international community, Georgia’s friends and partners for the support.

“I would like to respond to our friends, our strategic partners, all the countries that adopted this statement or responded on Twitter; Those who do not forget the August 2008 war, those who do not forget the occupied territories of Georgia. Thanks to all! This is a sign that neither we nor the world accepts this and the world stands by Georgia. This means that we have an even greater responsibility to find ways to unite Georgia,” the President said.
