Armenian nationalists seize key posts in separatist power in Abkhazia

10.06.20 14:05

Under the guise of a coronavirus epidemic, the leaders of the Armenian diaspora of Abkhazia take key posts in the separatist regime under their direct control. At the same time, the most influential post in Sukhumi was able to “grab” the company commanders of the militants of the battalion named after Baghramyan, one of the organizers of the genocide of the Georgian population of Abkhazia Galust Trapizonyan.

Galust Trapizonyan was recently appointed chairman of the State Committee for Standards, Consumer, and Technical Supervision of Separatist Abkhazia. The relevant decree was signed on May 27 by the separatist "president" Aslan Bzhaniya.

In fact, it is Galust Trapizonyan, and not Aslan Bzhaniya, who is the real leader of separatist Abkhazia, and regardless of how the separatist power formally changes, Trapizonyan retains his role and real shadow influence in Abkhazia. In February 2020, Galust Trapizonyan was re-elected Chairman of the Armenian Diaspora of Abkhazia, the decision was then adopted unanimously. Abkhazians can arbitrarily change Ankvab to Khadzhimba, and then to Bzhaniya and other puppets, among Abkhaz Armenians, the leader remains the same and no "Maidan" can shake his position.

Moreover, judging by everything, Aslan Bzhaniya was allowed to participate in the so-called "presidential" elections and win them only by agreement with the Armenian lobby, the real masters of Abkhazia. Without this “approval”, they could poison him banally and prevent him from participating in the elections - as it was already last year. And now, in essence, “fulfilling obligations”, he gave Trapizonyan one of the key posts in the separatist government.

The fact is that the control of Galust Trapizonyan over the so-called "standards", as well as the "consumer and technical supervision", almost completely eliminates the existence of any business in separatist Abkhazia, except for the Armenian, directly or indirectly owned by the Armenian lobby.

Those who do not belong to the "ancient people" and try to open a business, immediately run into the so-called "State Committee for Standards, Consumer and Technical Supervision". It turns out that businessmen of the “wrong” nationality “violate” either “consumer rights” or “standards”. "Violators" will be immediately closed. But the entire business of the Armenian diaspora will naturally "meet the standards." No matter how disgusting the owners of this business, for example, would not feed visitors and vacationers to their cafes and restaurants.

It is precisely “under the supervision” of Galust Trapizonyan that in fact passes the entire resort, restaurant, and hotel business of separatist Abkhazia.

Representatives of the Armenian diaspora do not miss out on their control and position in the separatist authorities "at the district level." So, almost simultaneously, with the appointment of Galust Trapizonyan to Sukhumi, his comrade-in-arms, Chairman of the Armenian Diaspora of the Gagra region, Khachik Minasyan, was appointed deputy head of the administration of the Gagra region. This happened after Hayk Chilingaryan, who held this position for many years, resigned of his own free will. It was announced that Minasyan will oversee issues of transport and communications, the agro-industrial sector, and rural administrations. He will also coordinate the work of the housing department, interact with the district military commissariat, the detachment of the paramilitary fire department of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergencies in Gagra.

The Gagra region is a key one for the resort business on the separatist territory, and today it is populated by almost 80-90% Armenians. It is clear that the Armenian diaspora will have all the “cream” from the resort business here and they will simply not let “strangers” into this sphere. Including representatives of the Abkhaz ethnic group, which in the same Gagra is gradually moving into the category of “restless” minority.
