PM: Lifting the state of emergency does not mean that the pandemic has been defeated

Lifting the state of emergency does not mean that everything is fine in the country or that the pandemic has been defeated, - Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said at the Coordinating Council meeting.

 

According to him, the pandemic has not been defeated in Georgia or in the world.

 

"Today we can officially take a step towards lifting the state of emergency. However, this does not mean that everything is fine in the country or that the pandemic has been defeated. The pandemic has not been defeated in Georgia or in the world

 

We have always said that we would have to fight on two fronts, in two directions: first, it is and will remain human health and life, and second - the recovery of our economy. We can unequivocally say today that we have succeeded in taking care of human health, and this council has greatly contributed to this. We are now fighting in the second direction, which is a rapid and effective economic recovery, and we must not forget that all this is extremely interconnected,"- said Giorgi Gakharia.
