Our goal is effective, successful, peaceful and democratic elections, the government is responsible for it and the Georgian government will do everything possible to ensure holding the successful, fully open and democratic elections, Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia said on Thursday.
The Prime Minister also spoke about the lifting of the state of emergency and noted that certain restrictions that are necessary will be maintained even after the lifting of the state of emergency.
"The main goal and motto of our government are to use this crisis as an opportunity for economic development in the country. We all need to understand that global competition will be much stronger and in this case our effectiveness is directly related to how we follow the basic rules that will enable us to slow down and manage the pace of virus development. So we need the legislative framework that will enable us to maintain these restrictions without declaring the state of emergency, and we have already addressed the Parliament and the relevant work in already underway.
