Today, the maximum daytime temperature in Georgia will rise to 36 degrees. According to the National Environment Agency, a sharp deterioration of weather is expected on May 22 and the country will witness heavy rain, lightning, thunder and hail in some parts.
The forecast also says that strong winds will blow on May 23. A 4-5 magnitude storm is expected at sea.
"On May 23-24, the air temperature will drop significantly, by 15-17 degrees Celsius. Heavy rains could significantly increase water levels in Georgian rivers and cause flooding on small rivers. The severe weather may trigger landslides in the mountainous areas of the country, "- reads the statement issued by the National Environment Agency.
