PM says GEL 3.5 billion will be spent on crisis management

The country will spend GEL 3.5 billion on crisis management, - Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said during the presentation of the government's anti-crisis plan.

As he pointed out, this amount does not cover the post-crisis recovery period.

"In total, the country will spend GEL 3.5 billion on crisis management, of which GEL 1.035 billion will be directed at social support of citizens, GEL 2.11 billion will be directed at the economy and entrepreneurs, while GEL 350 million will be spent on the health care of each citizen.

The crisis management had a number of major challenges, including the rapid spread of the pandemic, which means taking care of the lives and health of citizens and then saving the economy. These are 2 fronts. We all understand that winning on any of these fronts alone makes no sense for the long-term development of the country. We are in a situation, where we have to understand that we have to win in both directions,” said Giorgi Gakharia.
