Georgia’s export decreases by 5.9%, import – by 1.4 % y/y in January-March

External Merchandise Trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 2 773.9 million in January-March 2020, 2.7 percent lower year-on-year, the Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat) said.

 

According to Geostat, the value of exports decreased by 5.9 percent reaching USD 778.2 million, while the imports decreased by 1.4 percent and amounted to USD 1 995.8 million. The trade deficit equaled USD 1 217.6 million and its share in trade turnover constituted 43.9 percent.
