The government is obliged to take measures to secure peace in the country, reads the statement released by the Georgian Patriarchate.

 

According to the statement, the Patriarchate separates all forms of violence, hate speech from any side.

 

“When speaking about freedom of expression, sometimes it is not said that the freedom, as a noon-absolute right, can be restricted under the Constitution of Georgia and international law if it contradicts the moral values ​​of the country and creates real danger of confrontation and anxiety for people. The government is obliged to take measures to secure peace in the country” the statement reads.
