Pregnant woman tests positive for new coronavirus in Bolnisi

A pregnant woman has tested positive for a new coronavirus in Bolnisi, Lali Turdzeladze, Director at the TSMU First Universality Clinic, told reporters today.

 

According to her, the woman, at 24-25 weeks of pregnancy, was diagnosed using a rapid diagnostic test.

 

“She has recently admitted to our hospital. The patient has a fever. The rapid test detected a new coronavirus and now we will check it in the Lugar Laboratory,” the clinic director said.

 

According to her, this is the first pregnant woman in Georgia, who tested positive for COVID‐19.
