26.02.20 16:30

“Today, we have Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area Agreement (DCFTA) with EU, we have access to a market of high standards and all agree with our political aspirations,” Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said at “Georgia and the World 2020” Economic Conference.

The head of government emphasized how important is European counterparts’ support in overcoming the challenges.

“One of the major challenges where we need European counterparts help is transport and communication.

Georgia today has an ideal legal framework, agreements with the EU, but despite being very close to Europe in terms of institutional values, Georgia does not have a land border with Europe.

The connection to the European market relies on a legal basis created by the state, which today stands as a big challenge for our small and medium-sized enterprises as well, ”the Prime Minister said.
