Iran mistakenly shot down the Ukrainian Boeing 737 that crashed two minutes after taking off from Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran, killing all passengers and crew, US media reports.

As CBS says, US officials believe the Ukrainian International Airlines Boeing 737-800 was hit by a missile.

US President Trump said on Thursday morning he has his suspicions regarding the crash in Tehran.

“I don’t want to say that because other people have their suspicions also,” Trump said.

Foreign media reports about several potential causes for the crash that are being discussed, including terrorism, a missile strike, or catastrophic engine failure.

Ukraine’s National Security and Defence Council chief, Oleksiy Danilov says, among various causes behind the crash, there is a theory that the Ukrainian plane was hit by a Russian-made Tor missile.
