No public utility tariff growth expected in 2020

23.12.19 15:00

The public utility tariff growth is not expected by the year of 2020, David Narmania, head of the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission stated.

He said more power plants should be constructed.

'The import pressure on the tariff gradually increases. Thus, we should continue the construction of power plants that do not have any significant negative influence on the environment,' Narmania said adding that the increased demand for the electricity should be responded with the increase of the local generation.

Narmania said the electricity tariffs will be re-calculated after a year.
