Winners of Iakob Gogebashvili Children's Literature Prize to be Awarded Today

On December 16, at 18:00 the awarding ceremony of winners of Iakob Gogebashvili Children's Literature Prize will be held.

 

According to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, books, plays and innovative children's projects published in 2018 were eligible to compete.

 

“Iakob Gogebashvili Prize will be given in 8 nominations. These include the best poetry book, the best prose book, the best debut, the best-illustrated book, the best children's dramaturgy, the best translation, the innovative children's project, for the contribution to children's literature.

 

For the third time this year, Iakob Gogebashvili Children's Literature Prize will be awarded. The prize is a prize and a cash prize. The prize fund for each nomination is GEL 2000 and GEL 3000 for the contribution to children's literature.

 

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport of Georgia is a financial supporter of the award.

 

The Iakob Gogebashvili Prize was founded in 2017 and aims to support, popularize and encourage publishers to publish as many and high-quality Georgian children's books as possible, "reads the statement.
