Levan Davitashvili met with Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan

Levan Davitashvili, the Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia met with the delegation of the Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan. At the meeting the two sides discussed the issues of cooperation in the field of food safety.

 

Levan Davitashvili emphasized that cross-border cooperation in the field of food, veterinary and phytosanitary has no other alternative and is step forward in deepening trade relations.

 

Goshgar Tahmazli, the Chairman of Food Safety Agency and the Head of the delegation, noted that sharing experience with their newly established Agency is important.

 

The meeting was attended by Zurab Chekurashvili, the Head of the National Food Agency and representatives of the relevant departments.

 

During the visit, Azerbaijanian counterparts saw special equipment at the office of the National Food Agency and received information on the Georgian State Control System regarding animal health and plant protection. A memorandum is planned to be signed in order to deepen future cooperation.

 

Within the framework of the visit, the delegation of the Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan will visit the laboratory of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and customs checkpoints.
