12 049 students stopped studying in Georgia in 2018-2019

During the 2018-2019 school year, 12 049 students stopped studying in Georgia, which is 2.0% lower than the previous year.

 

40.7% of those students who dropped out, were girls and 59.3% were boys. More than three thousand students, dropped out of tenth grade. The National Statistics Office of Georgia reports.

 

In total, 592.9 thousand students attend school, which is 1.5% more than in the previous school year. 89.4% of students attend public schools and 10.6% attend private schools. 47.9% are girls and 52.1% are boys.

 

According to National Statistics Office by the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year, there are 2 313 public education institutions in Georgia, including 2 086 public and 227 private ones.

 

According to the 2019-2020 report, there are 63,780 teachers in the country.
