Georgian Infrastructure Minister: about 2,500 new jobs will be created through privatisation of state-owned assets

On the basis of the state-owned buildings which will be privatised, hotels, medical, education and other profile institutions will be built which will entail the creation of about 2,500 new jobs, said Georgian Minister of Infrastructure Maia Tskitishvili earlier today.

 

The privatisation of state-owned assets is an opportunity to develop Georgian business, economy and the country overall,” said Tskitishvili. 
Tskitishvili noted that privatisation of state-owned buildings is an interesting initiative worth 150 million GEL [$50.4 mln/€45.8 mln] in Tbilisi and the regions and said that the government expects to invest about 200 million GEL [$67.2 mln/€61.1mln] in this project.

 

Ministry of Economy and the National Agency of State Property offered local and international businesses 100 buildings for privatisation today, the aim of which is to attract more investments in the country and increase employment.
