Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze congratulated Muslim citizens of Georgia on Ramazan Bayrami celebration.

“I am joining your celebration and wish you peace and happiness. I wish our country and your families a peaceful future, progress, and success,” reads the statement of PM.

Muslim world celebrates Ramazan Bayrami starting today. The holiday was marked at Juma Mosque in Tbilisi where Muslims have gathered since early this morning to read the special prayer.

Ramazan Bayrami marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. Muslims around the world will be celebrating the holiday during three days.

Ramadan is considered the holiest month of the year for Muslims. During Ramadan, Muslims fast from food and drink during the sunlit hours as a means of learning self-control, gratitude, and compassion for those less fortunate. Ramadan is a month of intense spiritual rejuvenation with a heightened focus on devotion, during which Muslims spend extra time reading the Qur’an and performing special prayers.
