Irakli Kobakhidze - Renewal of the discussion about proportional elections is unthinkable

The ruling Georgian Dream party executive secretary Irakli Kobakhidze stated that the renewal of the discussion about proportional elections is unthinkable.

 

‘I can’t imagine discussing this issue again.  If we want to split the team completely, we have to do it. In the current circumstances, this is unthinkable. Our agenda is to prepare for parliamentary elections,’- Kobakhidze said.
The lawmaker commented on the information as if in the case of proportional elections ‘Georgian Dream’ could receive only 30% of the votes.

 

’30 per cent of the votes is the narrative of the ‘United National Movement.’

 

One of the key elements of this narrative of the ‘campaign of lies’ was that ‘Georgian Dream’ could not get more than 30 per cent. It’s simple Math for those who look at election system.

 

If ‘Georgian Dream’ can not get more than 30 per cent, in this case, it does not matter whether it is proportional or mixed,’- Irakli Kobakhidze said.
