According to the Minister of Economy of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili, it is not the mandate of the Ministry of Economy to determine whether anyone will be held responsible within the framework of the investigation into the fact of damage to the "GWP" pipeline.

According to Davitashvili, they have a relationship with the company so that their investment activities are adequate and the population has quality water supply.

"This is not the mandate of the Ministry of Economy. We have a relationship with the company so that their investment activity is adequate and the population does not face similar challenges in the future, we have quality water supply, infrastructure. I think there is a complete mutual understanding in this regard, so that the company can quickly and adequately perform the works and provide quality water supply to the population", said Levan Davitashvili.

An investigation into the fact of damage to the central main pipeline belonging to "GWP" near the village of Tsitsamuri has been started. The investigation is being carried out under Articles 188 and 306 of the Criminal Code, which involves carelessly damaging or destroying an object and causing significant damage to the environment by illegal action.

A few days ago, the central main water supply pipeline near the village of Tsitsamuri was accidentally damaged. As "Georgian Water and Power" explains, independently of "GWP", the mentioned area was filled with bulk material over time by third parties, which created a large geologically unstable land slope. On-site works have been going on for several days.
