This decision of a person called a prosecutor should indicate the fear of possible sanctions. Despite the fact that Shotadze was secretly doing Russian work, now he openly, declared, refused to do it, because he knows that he would definitely be sanctioned, - Chairman of the United National Movement Levan Khabeishvili said in response to Irakli Shotadze's resignation from the position of the Prosecutor General.

According to Levan Khabeishvili, Shotadze understood that being a member of this government means openly doing Russian work.

"This decision of a person called a prosecutor should indicate the fear of possible sanctions, and everyone is well aware that these sanctions will definitely be imposed, including against the representatives of the law enforcement agencies. I am sure that specific personal sanctions will be applied to all perpetrators. Shotadze understood that being a member of this government already means openly doing Russian work. Although he had been secretly doing so, he now openly, declared, refused precisely for the reason that he knows he would surely be sanctioned.

Accordingly, those who are in high positions today should leave their positions in order not to give Bidzina Ivanishvili the opportunity to extend his power", said Levan Khabeishvili, whose comments were disseminated by the party's press office.

For information, Prosecutor General of Georgia Irakli Shotadze is resigning.

According to him, he has to take the most difficult decision, taking into account the recommendations of doctors. As Shotadze mentioned, the treatment process will probably last several months and he has been abroad for more than a week for this purpose.
