"Georgian Dream" officially nominated Irakli Kobakhidze as Prime Minister

The ruling party officially presented Irakli Kobakhidze as a candidate for the position of Prime Minister.

 

As the new chairman of "Georgian Dream", Irakli Gharibashvili said during his speech at the congress, the party's candidate for the position of Prime Minister will be Irakli Kobakhidze, and he wished him success. A symbolic vote was also held at the congress.

 

"I would like to symbolically ask you all to express your support for the Prime Minister candidate, Irakli Kobakhidze. "Irakli Kobakhidze has been given full legitimacy and mandate by the Congress," said Irakli Gharibashvili.


Irakli Kobakhidze himself thanked the honorary chairman of the party Bidzina Ivanishvili.

 

"I want to thank the founder and honorary chairman of the party, Bidzina Ivanishvili, for appointing me to the post of Prime Minister and expressing confidence in me," said Irakli Kobakhidze.

 

Before the party congress, a session of the political council of "Georgian Dream" was held, during which the mentioned issue was discussed.

 

Irakli Kobakhidze will name the new composition of the government, after which the parliament will approve the new prime minister and the composition of the government next week.

 

Irakli Gharibashvili announced his resignation from the post of Prime Minister of Georgia on January 29.
