Givi Mikanadze: We expect that the composition of the government will be approved on February 8-9

We hear speculative statements from the opposition, they want to show that there is a conflict in the team - the team is united, - the member of the parliamentary majority, Givi Mikanadze, told journalists about the government changes.

According to him, the unity of the team is demonstrated by the 3 years, which, as Mikanadze notes, the country passed through the most difficult period.

"With unity, coordinated activities between the Parliament and the government, we were able to get the results that our country and people deserve. Becoming the chairman of the party is a very important, higher position, because the chairmanship of the ruling party means that all political activities are carried out from the party itself, and everything is planned there through the political council, and then the parliamentary team and the government take care of its implementation. Each position has its own workload, and the chairmanship of the party requires no less time and energy, as does the prime ministership. I am sure that both leaders of our team will lead the processes at a very high level with their usual high managerial skills in their new positions, as is typical for them," said Mikanadze.

According to his information, a session of the bureau will be held in the parliament tomorrow, where the government program will be presented. On Monday, the bureau will set the schedule. According to Mikanadze, it will be possible to raise the issue of government support at the plenary session on February 8 or 9.

"After the prime minister candidate is officially nominated by the ruling party and the official submission is sent to the parliament, a bureau meeting will probably be held tomorrow, where we will discuss the program of the prime minister candidate, which the government will present in order to gain confidence in the parliament. From Monday, by the decision of the bureau, the committee discussions of the government team will be distributed and the schedule will be made. Discussions on the timetable will begin on Monday and will cover several days, followed by meetings with political groups. We expect that around February 8 or 9 it will be possible to bring the issue of government support to the plenary session and approve the government next week. This issue is sent to the president, but even if the president does not sign, the government is considered approved," said Mikanadze.

Mikanadze was also asked who will be the leader of the majority and whether his candidacy is being considered. However, the deputy states that he will not be unequivocally and notes that Mdinaradze is considered the leader of the majority.

"I definitely won't be. Regarding this, an official statement will be made to the leader of the majority, however, it is absolutely logical for Mamuka Mdinaradze to take this position," said Mikanadze.
