Counter-Terrorist Center searches Beka Vardosanidze's apartment and garage relating to false reports about terrorism

As part of the investigation ongoing under Article 331 of the Criminal Code at the State Security Service on the fact of a false report about terrorism, the Counter-Terrorist Center searched Beka Vardosanidze's personal apartment and garage based on the court warrant, the State Security Service reports.

 

According to the Service, within the framework of the investigation, Beka Vardosanidze will be questioned as a witness at the State Security Service.

 

"Through comprehensively conducted investigative and operational measures, it is established that at a certain time interval, messages containing threats of terrorist content were sent to various agencies from the e-mail used by a specific person, which were related to the implementation of explosions.

 

The mentioned user sent a message containing threats of terrorist content to the official e-mail of the State Security Service, the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as the Imedi TV company. The text indicated that explosive devices were installed in the Basiani club, Rati Bar and on the stage located within the framework of the New Year's event on Rustaveli Avenue, as well as in the surrounding area and in various vehicles.

 

As a result of the conducted searches, various computer and electronic information equipment were seized, on which relevant examinations will be carried out. The investigation into the case continues.
