Georgian Railway delegation attended general meeting of Middle Corridor in Ankara

A delegation from Georgian Railway attended the general meeting of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, also known as the Middle Corridor, aimed to connect supply chains and logistics between China and Europe, in Ankara.

 

The Georgian delegation also took part in a round table format, along with other Middle Corridor countries, experts from international institutions, cargo owners and representatives of the business sector in Turkey, discussing the challenges and prospects of the Trans-Caspian Route.

 

The heads of the railways’ administrations, port infrastructure and sea carriers of the Middle Corridor states presented reports of the activities carried out in 2023 and reviewed the plans for 2024, the Georgian Railway said.

 

Within the framework of the visit to Ankara, the Georgian delegation participated in the first general meeting of the management of the Middle Corridor Multimodal LTD, a joint company established by the railways of Georgia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

 

At the meeting, the organisational and operational activities, to be implemented by the newly founded company in the coming months, were discussed.
