Levan Khabeishvili: The CEC is fully integrated with Georgian Dream and the processes are managed by the State Security Service

The Venice Commission wrote in black and white that the legitimacy of the current chairman of the CEC is questionable, so my question was the following - how the CEC can have legitimacy under such a chairman. The CEC is fully integrated with Georgian Dream and the processes are managed by the State Security Service, said the Chairman of the United National Movement, Levan Khabeishvili.

According to Khabeishvili, the ruling party wants to pretend that someone has a problem with the equipment needed to conduct elections electronically, but in reality, the problem is the people who manage these electronic equipment.

"The CEC and the Russian party want to pretend that the problem is electronic elections, that someone has a problem with the equipment. Actually, the problem is that CEC has an outdated, illegitimate chairman. A person who is not elected. The Venice Commission wrote in black and white that the legitimacy of this person is questionable, because this man was not elected by the parliament and was left by Georgian Dream as the chairman. Today I brought a 176-page conclusion and hundreds of proofs that CEC is directly integrated with Georgian Dream. Here are listed supposedly neutral members, how they are related to Georgian Dream - the wife of the police chief, the son of the deputy chief of the police and the member of the Georgian Dream city council, someone's mother, someone's uncle, cousin, and hundreds of facts in this 176-page report, which was prepared by the National Movement and obviously, the question was the following - if the CEC is integrated with Georgian Dream and this man is an illegitimate and obsolete chairman, how can this CEC have any legitimacy and secondly, if 299,000 people left the country in just three years, I mean immigrants, and everyone knows very well that these immigrants have the constitutional right to vote, especially in addition, we should emphasize that they send up to 8 billion GEL from year to year, which is 11-13 percent of Georgia's economy, so obviously, the second question was as follows, these people should be given the opportunity to cast their vote in the elections and register their vote, therefore, a polling station should be opened where 50,000 people will be registered. I had these questions”, said Levan Khabeishvili.
