Two “four-legged friends” join Georgia’s Special Penitentiary Service

05.01.24 10:09

Two “four-legged friends” - the puppies of Belgian Malinois - joined the Special Penitentiary Service of Georgia and will serve in the canine unit, after undergoing appropriate training, the Service said on Wednesday.

The body noted the canine unit was formed within the Service to prevent the entry of prohibited objects and substances into the penitentiary institutions.

A German Shepherd named Prada already serves in the unit, checking the parcels delivered at the penitentiary facilities.

The Service stressed it "takes full responsibility" for the puppies' care and training.
