Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze commented on the ongoing processes within the opposition United National Movement (UNM) party, describing them as internal conflicts and a battle for seats.

He expressed the expectation that the internal conflict within the UNM would intensify further.

“The processes taking place in the UNM are internal conflicts. There is a battle for seats. Actually, we know that these people can do nothing. We remember their rule, which is exemplary of how a government should not be. Today, they are in the opposition, and they are indicators of how the opposition should not act. I think that the conflict between them will intensify even more. However, we are not interested in what is happening in the UNM; our focus should be on addressing the challenges in the country,” said Kakha Kaladze.

Members of the Batumi organization of the opposition United National Movement party, Giorgi Kirtadze and Mirdat Kamadadze, along with seven deputies of the UNM faction in the Batumi City Council (Sakrebulo), have resigned from the party.
