The police arrested 1 person in Tbilisi on charges of attempted murder and assaulting a policeman. According to the agency's information, the employees of the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Old Tbilisi Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department, as a result of the investigative actions, arrested N.V., born in 1984, on charges of attempted murder and assaulting a police officer while on duty.

 

The crime is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

 

"During the investigation, it was established that the accused injured T.A., born in 1985, on Agmashenebeli Avenue in Tbilisi, on the basis of a mutual dispute, with a cold weapon.

 

Accused N.V. also injured the patrol police officer with a knife, who was called to the scene of the incident.

 

Both wounded have been taken to the hospital, where they are receiving appropriate medical care. As a result of investigative actions conducted by law enforcement officers, N.V. was arrested in hot pursuit.

 

Investigation of attempted murder and assault on a police officer during the performance of official duties is being conducted under Articles 19-108 and 353 of the Criminal Code," the information reads.
