Georgia has become a province of Russia - I want to tell you right before the 20th anniversary of the Rose Revolution that Georgia needs very big changes, Mikheil Saakashvili, the third president of Georgia, said at the trial, which he is attending remotely.

 

According to him, the people, and not the government, were able to get a positive recommendation from the European Commission regarding the granting of EU candidate country status to Georgia.

Georgia has become a province of Russia, and this is a fact. I want to tell you that this is not a hopeless situation, we did it - we got a positive recommendation on the status of the European Commission, and we did it, not the government.

 

Now the 20th anniversary of the Rose Revolution is coming. Before the 20th anniversary of the Rose Revolution, I want to tell you that Georgia needs very big changes. Georgian people have made a decision that they don't want to live under the boot of Russian oligarchs and Russia, they don't want to be someone's property... Of course, we have to believe in our strength that we will definitely be able to send them away, despite the fact that, of course, they are not going to do so," Saakashvili said.
