President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili met with the delegation of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, which is headed by the President of the Assembly Pia Kauma.

 

According to the press service of the President, at the meeting, which was held today in the Orbelian Palace, the discussion touched on the importance of the European Commission issuing a recommendation on granting Georgia candidate status and the continuous strengthening of democratic processes along this path.

 

"The President provided detailed information to the delegation regarding the difficult humanitarian situation in the occupied territories. In this context, the conversation touched on the country's European future as a development opportunity for the population living in the occupied territories.

 

The meeting also discussed the importance of strengthening peace and security in the region, and in this regard, the involvement of European institutions in order to strengthen the security of the Black Sea and strengthen the stability of the region," the press service of the president said.
