Procedural Issues and Rules Committee supports early termination of Davit Sergeenko’s parliamentary mandate

16.11.23 12:30

The Procedural Issues and Rules Committee of the Parliament supported the early termination of the parliamentary mandate of Georgian Dream MP Davit Sergeenko.

As Irakli Kadagishvili, the chairman of the committee, noted at the meeting of the committee, Davit Sergeenko addressed the committee in writing with the relevant statement.

For information, the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament, the Georgian Dream MP, Davit Sergeenko, himself applied to the Parliament on October 27 to terminate his parliamentary powers. The issue will probably be discussed at the plenary session this week.

Let us also remind you that the Parliament discussed the termination of Sergeenko's powers as a deputy a few months ago, which was based on Sergeenko's absence from the sessions due to an illegitimate reason, but the majority dropped the relevant resolution of the Parliament and kept Sergeenko's mandate.
