I believe that common sense will prevail in the European Union. Prudence will prevail. I think that Europe will not make the same mistake they made last year, when they oppressed Georgia and treated it unfairly, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili said while talking to journalists in Spain, where the head of government is participating in the third summit of the European Political Community (EPC).
According to him, the country has achieved tangible results in all directions.
"We have to do everything that the country and our people need. We must continue reforms, development and strengthening of the country, development of our country's economy, which is the most important, and most importantly, security issues. The country should succeed in peaceful de-occupation and development of the country, this is our main goal. I talk to our European colleagues, I explain to them and I have very strong arguments, which our European colleagues have and will have to share. I believe that common sense will prevail in the European Union. Reason and prudence will prevail. I think that Europe will not make the mistake they made last year, when they oppressed Georgia, treated them unfairly, and by this they actually did not do any good to our country or Europe, but to someone else. I think we explained everything to our European colleagues. They shared these arguments. The country has achieved tangible results in all directions. We are ahead of Ukraine, Moldova, Bosnia-Herzegovina, which received the status and we did not. We will not tolerate unfair, oppressive and insulting attitude from anyone, we will have and we have principled conversations with our European colleagues. I think that common sense will prevail, rationality, prudence and strategic thinking will prevail", Gharibashvili said.
