Human Rights Committee Hosts UN Special Rapporteur

The parliamentary Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee Chair, Mikheil Sarjveladze and MP Rati Ionatamishvili hosted Gerard Quinn, the UN Special Rapporteur, on the rights of persons with disabilities.

 

Gerard Quinn arrived in Georgia to get familiarized with Georgia’s experience and steps taken on the rights of persons with limited physical capabilities. He will report to the 55th session of the UN Human Rights Council.

 

The Georgian MPs spoke about reforms and changes per the internationally taken commitments and ongoing projects. They reiterated their readiness to continue cooperation to improve legislation and human rights policy.
