On 12 September 2023, a cargo vehicle of the Russian Red Cross Society, in coordination with the Azerbaijani Red Crescent Society, was secured passage along the Aghdam-Khankendi road to Khankendi.
"The fact that the cargo was delivered precisely along the Aghdam-Khankendi road, despite the provocations of the self-proclaimed Armenian regime in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, we consider as a positive step and an important shift towards the opening of this road" - said in a comment the head of the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Ayhan Hajizadeh.
Meanwhile, Armenian nationalists have threatened Russia with "heavenly punishment" if it facilitates the delivery of humanitarian aid to "starving Karabakh Armenians" along the Aghdam-Khankedi route. Sarkis Tsaturyan, a citizen of the Russian Federation and head of the 'Russian' news agency 'Realist', was particularly prominent. Here is his "warning to Russia" published on his telegram channel on 9 September 2023:
"Any delivery of humanitarian aid to Artsakh without using the Stepanakert-Goris route is a crime against the Artsakh Armenians themselves and a crime against the sovereignty of Armenia. If the Kremlin intends to deliver goods to Artsakh via the Akna (Aghdam) - Stepanakert (Khankedi) route, it means one thing: Moscow is an accomplice of the blockade. And an official accomplice. And no amount of propaganda will wash away its complicity in the crime.
I, Sarkis Tsaturyan, the author of the book "Armenian Dream", strongly reject the position of the Yerevan viceroys and their curators that "Artsakh" belongs to the Baku regime. For me and for the remaining 12 million Armenians, Artsakh was, is and will remain a province of Armenia, a land that cannot be handed over to another nation at the whim of one or another oil tyrant.
By closing the way to Armenia to Armenians, other nations are closing their way to salvation and will be defeated like the pagan Babylon with whom Armenians have been at war since the time of their ancestor Hayk Naapet. Or do you think that the earthquake in Turkey was an accident?
For the Scripture says: "Woe, woe to you, great city Babylon, mighty city! For in one hour comes your judgement. Revelation of John the Apostle, chapter 18, verse 10".
Well, despite Sarkis Tsaturyan's threats, Russian peacekeepers ensured the passage of humanitarian aid along the Aghdam-Khankendi route. I wonder what "heavenly punishments" and natural disasters will fall on Russia after this? Earthquakes? Floods? Hurricanes? "Stones from the sky"?
Then it is not clear what the representative of the oldest nation, Sarkis Tsaturyan, is still doing in "doomed" Russia. Or will the "stones from heaven" fall selectively, hitting only Russians and leaving Armenians untouched?
Meanwhile, Tsaturyan's "Realist" news agency is considered "an information stronghold of Russian patriots". And it turns out that this "stronghold" is headed by an ardent Armenian nationalist. He hates Russia and wishes it all kinds of disasters, just because it "dared" to disobey Armenian nationalists and "Artsakh" separatists and delivered humanitarian aid to Karabakh Armenians "by the wrong route".
