09.09.19 16:00

A new lighting system has been installed in Georgia’s Prometheus Caves – one of the most attractive tourist destinations in western Georgia.

The modern lighting system makes the experience much more enjoyable, as it effectively highlights the natural beauty of the cave. The lighting system will not damage the cave’s infrastructure.

Financed by the Georgian budget, the lighting system was installed with the help of German experts.

The Prometheus Caves are located in Tskaltubo Municipality, near the provincial capital of the Georgian region of Imereti, Kutaisi.

It is one of Georgia’s natural wonders including various types of stalactites, stalagmites, curtains, petrified waterfalls, cave pearls, underground rivers and lakes.

The cluster of six caves differ significantly from each other in scale and the unique shapes of petrified flowstones found within.

The caves host 270,000 visitors annually.
