Irakli Kobakhidze on Marina Kaljurand’s statement: Where is the specificity? Let her tell us an example where something should have been done, and we didn't do - she can't tell us

Where is the specificity? Let her tell us an example where something should have been done, for example electoral reform, what should have been done that we didn't do? She can't tell us, - this is how Georgian Dream chairman Irakli Kobakhidze answered journalists' question regarding the statement by European Parliamentarian Marina Kaljurand, according to which, in some cases, “progress appears superficial and patchy, and there remains a perceived lack of sincere willingness, from the part of the parliamentary majority, to involve genuinely the opposition parties and civil society organisations in the decision-making processes”.

According to Kobakhidze, the resolutions of the European Parliament are often groundless and, therefore, not decisive for them.

"The executive structures of the European Union themselves tell us that the resolutions of the European Parliament are not worth paying attention to, because such type of resolutions are often not based on objective circumstances. Therefore, the resolutions of the European Parliament, which are worthless for us, are not decisive for us, for one simple reason, they are not based on specific circumstances and are completely groundless. When the resolution of the European Parliament demands the release of Saakashvili and Gvaramia, two criminals, and the punishment of Bidzina Ivanishvili, it is natural for us that such resolutions cannot have any value. Therefore, in no case can the resolutions of the European Parliament be decisive for us. The 12 points and the laws are decisive for us. We have carried out reforms in all directions, the work is being completed, we have time until the end of June. Therefore, not only there is a willingness, but this willingness is expressed in appropriate actions", said Irakli Kobakhidze.
