Kakha Kaladze: When there is an attempt to mislead the public, to spread wrong information, we should not allow it and we should tell the truth

According to Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, only the government is involved in the implementation of reforms and the implementation of the 12-point plan, because it knows how important it is for the country to receive candidate status for EU membership. Kaladze told journalists about the above while commenting on the statement released by European Parliamentarian Marina Kaliurand.

"To be honest, I don't care at all what the West believes. The most important thing for us is that the 12 recommendations will be thoroughly implemented by the end of June, despite the fact that the first part of the mentioned recommendations was depolarization, which cannot be implemented unilaterally, this requires the other side as well, which today promotes radicalism and is in a boycott mode, and this boycott is directed against the country and not only the government. Reforms and the 12-point plan are being implemented only by the government, because we know how important it is for the country to get the status, even though we deserved it before. This 12-point plan will be implemented and then we will wait for the decision to be made in December", said Kakha Kaladze.

According to him, when they try to deceive us, this should not be allowed.

"We are politicians and when there is an attempt to mislead the public, to spread wrong information, we should not allow it. Even if it is a western partner, we should tell them the truth, we should also tell the truth to our friends. It doesn't matter who they are - our friend, well-wisher or enemy, when they try to deceive us, we have to say what we need to say. We have to say that white is white, black is black, and we have to make others understand this," said Kakha Kaladze.
